Biography


Luise started her musical journey with early studies on the piano and clarinet before graduating from Oxford University with an Honours Degree in English. She qualified as a teacher gaining her Post Graduate Certificate of Education at Goldsmiths College, London before studying singing on an Advanced Studies Course at the Royal College of Music in London.


During her singing career she performed extensively as a Soprano Soloist for Choral Societies and Choirs both in the UK and Europe in oratorio and other choral works with appearances at St John’s Smith Square, Westminster Abbey and cathedrals throughout the UK, in the Three Choirs and Edinburgh Festivals. While specialising primarily in oratorio, she also gave many song recitals and appeared on the opera stage at Buxton Opera House.  She also sang in a series of concerts and recitals in South Africa and the USA and her wide repertoire encompassed works from Monteverdi to Stravinsky. She made several recordings and her BBC broadcasts included performances of Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s Creation and works by Goehr.


Alongside her performing work Luise has built up extensive experience as a vocal teacher and coach. She has trained and conducted the Wyre Forest Young Voices choir, worked as a mentor on the CT ABRSM teacher-training course, as an external moderator for Artis, a company providing performing arts projects in schools, as well as undertaking consultancy work for Sing Up.

Luise has for many years worked as an adjudicator member of The British and International Federation of Festivals and as an examiner in music for Trinity College, London.

She has also organised, promoted and compèred numerous concerts and events as well as acting in productions of Shakespeare in the Cathedral with Worcester Repertory Company.
